Viewpoint [noun]: a spot typically with incredible views and vantage points. They are usually very popular and can be labeled on trail maps or by signs.

I managed to con talk Jake and Adam into tackling the Colorado six pack of peaks. Technically there are two groups, the regular one and an extra-spicy one. I chose the regular one, I’m still mildly traumatized from The Flatiron in Arizona. First up, Bergen Peak in Evergreen. Trail beta showed a nice, meandering trail to a not-quite-dougle-digit altitude. Perfect!

Well, I thought so. Leinie and I cruised! Jake and Adam, not so much. The trail was long, but not too long. There were decidedly ups, but not super steep. There were views, very well labeled views at that. I can’t say for sure why the guys struggled so much with this one….👀…we will leave it with they were definitely lagging a bit.

Naturally we can’t bag a six packer without a celebratory brewski so we skipped across the highway to Evergreen Brewery. It was packed with father’s and their offspring but we found a shady spot on the patio to enjoy our beverages. A great start to the peak bagging season
