Sandra’s Pick: Liberty Cliche Blonde Ale

A brewery with a garden and world-renown bistro? Why yes, please. I believe we earned it after completing the “Toughest Hike In San Diego”.

Our concern when arriving was whether it would be dog friendly. Alas, some breweries we have found are not. Stone was the opposite. Sure, bring the handsomest trail doggo in our store. You have the best of good boys - seating inside or outside? They even have the “trashcan special” a mix of burger, sweet potato and quinoa for a hard-working trail doggo to feast on.

The garden was so relaxing and shaded, you’d never guess it was topping the 80’s on the pavement. The food was most excellent and I stand by that all restaurants should have the QR code thing where there is no wait staff, just those who bring what you already ordered and paid for by your phone. No interruptions while you’re mid-mouthful to ask how the food is.

The beer is a well known solid, but I tried their blonde ale. It was delicious. The deal was I had to drive home so I made Jake stay for a couple hours so I could nurse two. If you know me, you know that is a trial of constitution if there ever was one. He tried several different citrus ones, while not my thing he enjoyed them very well.
